shag-rug-and-lots-of-light.jpgI like plenty of sunlight.  I am so happy shag rugs are in style again!  This is another way to soften up with texture. I found this shag rug at Urban Outfitters for around $100.  The modern style table is from Ikea for about $100.  I like matching the round table with the round rug.  Clean, uncluttered and it all fits.

tableandchairs.jpg I found an “Arco” Type lamp at the local annual fireman’s garage sale. It still has the original light bulb in it and in working condition.  The art above the table is a framed vintage 1960’s designed wall paper found at the same garage sale.  I love the color green and it adds more pop to the all white walls. The light wood frame was found by the dumpster by my house.  ”Dumpster diving” means treasures leaning against the dumpster, not inside the dumpster.  Many times when people move or want to get rid of items, they simply put their treasures out for others to have.

This was an amazing thrift store find for $10.  This is a replica of a Jens Risom lounge chair.  I searched for a signature with no luck. Jens Risom (1941) is a Danish Designer.  The bent wood-plywood and heavy duty cotton webbed strap’s design might be known as the first chair to be designed for Knoll according to the Design within Reach website.

I found these red chairs at Savers for $8 total. I love red because it pops.  They look like old diner chairs.  I love how there’s history with every thrift store find. This look was inspired by many hours of looking up modern design, specifically designers Charles and Ray Eames.  Minimilist, modern and uncluttered design is key.
